Another excursion to the Wirral

Took advantage of the nice weather to have a trip out to Parkgate, Thurstaston Heath and the West Kirby salt marshes. We spotted some new birds, discovered a new area for walking in, and found Gus a very smelly creek to fall into. The photo shows Debbie trying to catch a picture of an elusive little sedge warbler.

A day in The Lakes

June is feeling a bit summery, so we picked up Debbie's Mum en route and had a quick run up the M6 for a day in the Lakes. We let Gus have a swim in Windermere, joined the throngs in Bowness for morning coffee and a bit of gift shopping, then drove over the Kirkstone Pass to have a late lunch and a stroll along the river at Pooley Bridge. The photo shows Rita, Debbie and Gus by Lake Windermere with the Langdale Pikes in the background.
